HPY Philly is a locally owned, community-focused yoga and Pilates brand offering music-led, infrared-heated classes. Our programming includes Hot Power Yoga, Hot Pilates, HPY Burn, HPY Flow, Heated Yin, Hot Abs, and HPY Baby prenatal and postpartum classes, along with specialty workshops and events.

Position Summary

The Area Studio Manager oversees daily operations across all HPY Philly locations. This is a hands-on, floor based leadership role responsible for studio support scheduling, front desk operations, instructor and student experience, communications, and operational consistency. The Area Manager actively works as managing support to ensure coverage needs are met while maintaining payroll alignment and service excellence. This position reports directly to ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage studio support schedules, including front desk coverage and operational staffing

  • Maintain teaching schedules and proactively fill coverage gaps

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors and studio support staff

  • Create, update, and manage workshops and specialty events in Mindbody

  • Oversee front desk operations and daily class flow across locations

  • Manage student communications via Grasshopper text service and manager@hpyphilly.com email during scheduled working hours

  • Support student check-in, registration, and customer service

  • Ensure smooth class transitions and instructor support

  • Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and safety standards

  • Complete or delegate hands-on tasks such as room resets, cleaning, and supply refills 

  • Take class and provide feedback

  • Rotate between studio locations to ensure consistent operations

  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management

  • Step in to support last-minute instructor or front desk coverage as needed

Requirements

  • Active Vinyasa Flow yoga teaching certification required

  • Pilates teaching certification strongly preferred

  • Prior studio management experience required

  • Experience teaching in heated studios strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with Mindbody 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced studio environment with variable hours

  • Must live in Philadelphia

Schedule & Availability (Sample Weekly Structure)

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role aligned with studio operations, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. The standard days off are Wednesday and Thursday, with additional on-call availability during operating hours as needed. Scheduling may be flexible based on studio needs across multiple locations. Some early morning responsibilities may be completed remotely, with the remainder handled in studio. Weekend hours in the summer will be adjusted.

Sample Weekly Schedule - Subject to change - Flexible Options

Monday: 6:30 AM–10:30 AM, 4:30 PM–8:30 PM (8 hrs)
Tuesday: 5:30 AM–10:00 AM, 3:30 PM–7:30 PM (8.5 hrs)
Wednesday: 5:30 AM–10:00 AM, 4:00 PM–8:00 PM (8.5 hrs)
Thursday: Off
Friday: Off
Saturday: 8:00 AM–1:30 PM (5.5 hrs)
Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (8.5 hrs)

Daytime weekday hours are primarily off the floor, with occasional administrative tasks such as responding to student inquiries via Grasshopper. Core responsibilities including scheduling, workshop setup in Mindbody, inventory management, ordering, and student communications can be completed on-site during studio hours while classes are in session. The role includes on-call operational support during studio operating hours as needed. Weekly hours will be structured to remain within a 40-hour workweek.

Compensation & Time Off

This position is a full-time W-2 role with starting annual compensation of $65,000 plus a performance-based annual bonus, commensurate with experience. Compensation is paid semi-monthly. The role includes 14 days of paid time off per year on a use-it-or-lose-it basis. Health benefits are not currently offered; however, reimbursement or stipends toward out-of-pocket healthcare costs may be discussed.
